Our Baby and You course is the ideal time to ask questions and deal with issues as they arrive whilst helping you to understand and cope with your role as a new parent. Baby and You is for parents of 0 – 8 week old babies and is held over six weekday sessions which you attend with your baby.
This is a very popular course and is presented by qualified professionals who run each session as a relaxed discussion group. Because all babies are unique with varying needs and personalities, this format gives you the opportunity to discuss your particular situation and challenges and receive tips, advice and potential strategies.
Topics covered include: caring for a newborn including feeding, sleeping and soothing; first aid and CPR for babies and toddlers; life changes and looking after yourself; development and play including stimulation for baby, age appropriate toys and key milestones of baby’s growth and development; baby massage.
The January 2025 Baby & You course runs 13th January t0 17th February 2025 (Six sessions for parents of babies due around December 2024)

- Monday 20th January – Infant First Aid
- Monday 3rd February – All About You
- Wednesday 5th February – Mum Movements
- Monday 10th February – Physical Development & Play
- Monday 17th February – Baby Massage
Cost:
The Baby & You course is included as part of our New Parents Package. However, subject to availability, parents who didn’t do a childbirth education course at Onewa Parents Centre are more than welcome to do this course. The cost depends on your Parents Centre membership level:
- $100 for existing members – if you have already paid for a Parents Centre membership elsewhere.
- $140 for non members – if you do not want to add on a new membership.
- $165 for new members – if you want to sign up for a course and for a one-year membership to Parents Centre. See our membership page for more information regarding the benefits of becoming a Parents Centre member.
