SUMMARY:BIRKENHEAD Baby and You Course June 2026
DESCRIPTION:Our Baby and You course is the ideal time to ask questions and deal with issues as they arrive whilst helping you to understand and cope with your role as a new parent. Baby and You is for parents of 0 – 8 week old babies and is held over six weekday sessions which you attend with your baby. \nThis is a very popular course and is presented by qualified professionals who run each session as a relaxed discussion group. Because all babies are unique with varying needs and personalities\, this format gives you the opportunity to discuss your particular situation and challenges and receive tips\, advice and potential strategies. \nTopics covered include: caring for a newborn including feeding\, sleeping and soothing; first aid and CPR for babies and toddlers; life changes and looking after yourself; development and play including stimulation for baby\, age appropriate toys and key milestones of baby’s growth and development; physical recover from childbirth and safe return to exercise\, baby massage. \nThe June 2025 Baby & You course runs 10th June to 15th July 2026 (Six sessions for parents of babies due around April/May 2026)\, at the Rawene Centre. All sessions run 10am to around 12pm. \nSession Dates: \n\nWednesday 10th June – Infant First Aid\nWednesday 17th June – Eat\, Sleep\, Soothe\nWednesday 24th June – All About You\nWednesday 1sth July –  Mum Movements (10am – 11.30am)\nWednesday 8th July – Physical Development & Play\nWednesday 15th July – Baby Massage\n\nCost:\nThe Baby & You course is included as part of our New Parents Package. However\, subject to availability\, parents who didn’t do a childbirth education course at Onewa Parents Centre are more than welcome to do this course. The cost is $165 per person/couple. Partners and support people are also welcome to attend (max 2 people/ticket). \n

SUMMARY:BIRKENHEAD Infant First Aid 13th July 2026
DESCRIPTION:One-Off Session – Infant First Aid with Shrenika & Helen from Little Beat First Aid Education for Parents. \nCPR and First aid education for expecting or new parents taught by experienced paediatric nurses covering the most important things you need to know to prepare you for an emergency situation with your child. \nA two hour first aid course covering infant and child CPR\, first aid for choking and other common childhood incidents such as burns\, head injuries\, febrile seizures and more. Includes practice on manikins and the opportunity to ask any questions. \nBabies are welcome to attend with their caregivers. \nElectronic handouts emailed after the session. \nCost: \n\n$30 per individual (partners & support people will need their own ticket).\n\nNote: This session is also offered as part of our ‘Baby & You’ postpartum course which is $165 for six-sessions.
