SUMMARY:Moving and Munching (February 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Our Moving and Munching course includes two interactive and informative sessions\, tailored to parents of 3 month – 6 month old babies\, and covers a range of topics including your baby’s physical and mental milestones\, bonding and learning through play\, starting solids\, nutritional requirements\, and stages of development. \nThis course includes two sessions\, held on Friday 20th February (Moving) at 10.15am and Friday 27th February (Munching) at 10.15am. Both sessions run in the OPC Rooms at the Rawene Centre. \nThe Moving session is hosted by Sasha Robertson She is a Transition to Parenting Educator\, who also teaches Antenatal and Postnatal classes for Onewa Parents Centre and Hibiscus Coast Parents Centre. \nThis session discusses different strategies to support parents in fostering their baby’s development without adding to the pressure and mental load of parenting. \nKey topics include: \n\nOn the move  – how to support and encourage active movement\nRolling\nAdvice on sitting\nReflexes\nVestibular Development\nMusic and Movement\nHow you can help your baby learn through play and exploration\n\nThe Munching session\, hosted by Priscilla Natalia is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD) and has facilitated Auckland based Parent Centre Nutrition talks since 2015. These 1.5 hour nutrition session provide parents with the latest evidence-based nutrition advice according to the appropriate age and stages of development. She has worked as a NZRD for over 22 years\, with having had experience working in clinical practice and working with the University of Otago as a Professional Practice Fellow for the Masters of Dietetics Programme. Priscilla continues to maintain clinical practice as a Paediatric Dietitian working for ACC providers. \nKey topics: \n\nStarting solids (when\, what and how)\nHomemade baby food\nImportance of iron\nProgressing the consistencies of solids (textures and variety)\nBowel changes\nBaby led weaning\nChoking\nAllergies and intolerances\n\nParents of younger babies are most welcome to attend\, as are the little ones! \nCost: \n\nParents Centre members: $40 (incl. GST) per attendee for both sessions\nNon-Parents Centre members: $50 (incl. DESCRIPTION:Our Hibiscus Coast New Parents Package is for expectant parents and their support people to prepare for the arrival of a new baby and becoming parents. Our highly regarded classes are run by qualified\, trained childbirth educators in a relaxed and nurturing setting. \nThis package starts in October 2025 and is for babies due between November 2025 & February 2026. The Childbirth Education course runs over four sessions\, on Tuesday evenings. The course will run on Tuesday 14th\, 21st & 28th October\, & 4th November. All sessions will run  6.45pm-9.15pm\, at the Hibiscus Coast Netball Centre\, Edith Hopper Park\, Ladies Mile\, Manly\, Whangaparāoa. The Baby and You course runs over four weekday sessions. \nCost:\nOur New Parents Package costs $285 (incl. DESCRIPTION:Our Moving and Munching course includes two interactive and informative sessions\, tailored to parents of 3 month – 6 month old babies\, and covers a range of topics including your baby’s physical and mental milestones\, bonding and learning through play\, starting solids\, nutritional requirements\, and stages of development. \nThis course includes two sessions\, held on Friday 13th June (Munching) at 10.15am and Friday 27th June (Moving). Both sessions run in the OPC Rooms at the Rawene Centre. \nThe Moving session is hosted by Sasha Robertson She is a Transition to Parenting Educator\, who also teaches Antenatal and Postnatal classes for Onewa Parents Centre and Hibiscus Coast Parents Centre. \nThis session discusses different strategies to support parents in fostering their baby’s development without adding to the pressure and mental load of parenting. \nKey topics include: \n\nOn the move  – how to support and encourage active movement\nRolling\nAdvice on sitting\nReflexes\nVestibular Development\nMusic and Movement\nHow you can help your baby learn through play and exploration\n\nThe Munching session\, hosted by Priscilla Natalia is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD) and has facilitated Auckland based Parent Centre Nutrition talks since 2015. These 1.5 hour nutrition session provide parents with the latest evidence-based nutrition advice according to the appropriate age and stages of development. She has worked as a NZRD for over 22 years\, with having had experience working in clinical practice and working with the University of Otago as a Professional Practice Fellow for the Masters of Dietetics Programme. Priscilla continues to maintain clinical practice as a Paediatric Dietitian working for ACC providers. \nKey topics: \n\nStarting solids (when\, what and how)\nHomemade baby food\nImportance of iron\nProgressing the consistencies of solids (textures and variety)\nBowel changes\nBaby led weaning\nChoking\nAllergies and intolerances\n\nParents of younger babies are most welcome to attend\, as are the little ones! \nCost: \n\nParents Centre members: $40 (incl. DESCRIPTION:Our Moving and Munching course includes two interactive and informative sessions\, tailored to parents of 3 month – 6 month old babies\, and covers a range of topics including your baby’s physical and mental milestones\, bonding and learning through play\, starting solids\, nutritional requirements\, and stages of development. \nThis course includes two sessions\, held Friday 16th August (Moving) at 10.15am and Friday 23rd August (Munching) at 10.15am. Both sessions run in the OPC Rooms at the Rawene Centre. \nThe Moving session is hosted by Alida Aitken. She is a Transition to Parenting Educator\, who also teaches Antenatal and Postnatal classes for Onewa Parents Centre\, and is also a trained counsellor and birth doula. \nThis session discusses different strategies to support parents in fostering their baby’s development without adding to the pressure and mental load of parenting. \nKey topics include: \n\nOn the move  – how to support and encourage active movement\nRolling\nAdvice on sitting\nReflexes\nVestibular Development\nMusic and Movement\nHow you can help your baby learn through play and exploration\n\nThe Munching session\, hosted by Priscilla Natalia is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD) and has facilitated Auckland based Parent Centre Nutrition talks since 2015. These 1.5 hour nutrition session provide parents with the latest evidence-based nutrition advice according to the appropriate age and stages of development. She has worked as a NZRD for over 22 years\, with having had experience working in clinical practice and working with the University of Otago as a Professional Practice Fellow for the Masters of Dietetics Programme. Priscilla continues to maintain clinical practice as a Paediatric Dietitian working for ACC providers. \nKey topics: \n\nStarting solids (when\, what and how)\nHomemade baby food\nImportance of iron\nProgressing the consistencies of solids (textures and variety)\nBowel changes\nBaby led weaning\nChoking\nAllergies and intolerances\n\nParents of younger babies are most welcome to attend\, as are the little ones! \nCost: \n\nParents Centre members: $40 (incl. SUMMARY:Moving and Munching (February 202)
DESCRIPTION:Our Moving and Munching course includes two interactive and informative sessions\, tailored to parents of 3 month – 6 month old babies\, and covers a range of topics including your baby’s physical and mental milestones\, bonding and learning through play\, starting solids\, nutritional requirements\, and stages of development. \nThis course includes two sessions\, held Friday 16th February (Munching) at 10.15am and Friday 23rd February (Munching) at 10.15am. Both sessions run in the OPC Rooms at the Rawene Centre. \nThe Moving session is hosted by Jade Mackey. She is a Transition to Parenting Educator\, who also teaches Antenatal and Postnatal classes for Bays North Harbour Parents Centre. \nJade is passionate about the whole transition to parenthood period and wants parents and whānau to feel supported and informed throughout pregnancy\, birth\, and beyond. This session discusses different strategies to support parents in fostering their baby’s development without adding to the pressure and mental load of parenting. \nKey topics include: \n\nOn the move  – how to support and encourage active movement\nRolling\nAdvice on sitting\nReflexes\nVestibular Development\nMusic and Movement\nHow you can help your baby learn through play and exploration\n\nThe Munching session\, hosted by Priscilla Natalia is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD) and has facilitated Auckland based Parent Centre Nutrition talks since 2015. These 1.5 hour nutrition session provide parents with the latest evidence-based nutrition advice according to the appropriate age and stages of development. She has worked as a NZRD for over 22 years\, with having had experience working in clinical practice and working with the University of Otago as a Professional Practice Fellow for the Masters of Dietetics Programme. Priscilla continues to maintain clinical practice as a Paediatric Dietitian working for ACC providers. \nKey topics: \n\nStarting solids (when\, what and how)\nHomemade baby food\nImportance of iron\nProgressing the consistencies of solids (textures and variety)\nBowel changes\nBaby led weaning\nChoking\nAllergies and intolerances\n\nParents of younger babies are most welcome to attend\, as are the little ones! \nCost: \n\nParents Centre members: $40 (incl. GST) for both sessions\nNon-Parents Centre members: $50 (incl. GST) for both sessions\n\nPlease note that any request to withdraw from this course within one week of commencement will not be eligible for a refund of the fees above. \nVenue: \nAll classes are held in the Onewa Parents Centre rooms in the Rawene Centre\, Birkenhead (or via Zoom depending on Covid restrictions).
